Sitting Ballet Dancer

Very Beginning/Beginning 2
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

This class is for students who are new to ballet or are returning after a hiatus. We work on the fundamentals of technique, body alignment, and mechanics as well as terminology that create a good foundation for ballet.

Beginner Int Ballet
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Students with recent beginning-intermediate level ballet experience will benefit from this class. The combinations are more complex which makes them both challenging and fun. The fundamentals of ballet should be known for this class.

Thursday

Pre-Pointe/Beginning Pointe
6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

This class concentrates on the requisite technique and strength required to be en pointe. It is for students working en pointe currently and those who wish to be in the future. Students who want to work specifically on alignment and foot/ankle strength will also benefit from this class.

Beth

Renzo Acosta

Renzo Acosta started his dance training in Hawai’i with various studios. He received a full merit scholarship with Ballet Hawai’i where he received most of his ballet training and went on to perform with local dance groups such as Tau Dance Treater, Iona Dance Company, and Onium Dance Project. He received his BA in Dance from University of Hawai’i at Manoa where he was featured in works by Erik Stern and Joe Goode. He has been teaching ballet since 2017 and is excited to bring the joy of dance to you at Second Act Dance.

Beth Humphrey

Beth started dancing in the 1970s with Pacific Northwest Ballet school. She continued her dance career through college. After achieving her master degree in Education, she took time off to start a family. She has returned to the dance studio and now is dancing and teaching at Second Act Dance.

Laura Coulter

Laura began her ballet training in the 1980's in Minnesota. With a strong foundation in ballet, she went on to perform and compete in other movement-based arts through college. She came back to ballet as an adult and is happy to be dancing and teaching at Second Act Dance.
